FAQ

How can I prepare for a tutorial?
We're happy for you to turn up to your tutorial session with no idea about what's going on with your topic of choice, after all, that's why we're all here!
But, there are a few things that we recommend you do to prepare, so you can get the best value out of your hour with us:
Have another look at your topic again to familiarise yourself with some of the concepts
-
Read over uni notes
-
Watch a couple of videos
If you really don't understand a concept, review some of the physiology associated with it.
-
e.g. A tute on ECGs would benefit from a review of cardiac physiology
Make a list of questions that come up while you review, this can help us make the session more targeted to areas you need to work on.
What will be covered in a tutorial?
The aim of these tutorials is to provide an opportunity to cover areas of study in which you feel you need some assistance. As such we will be guided by you and allow you to select the topics that we cover.
Some examples of tutes we've run:
-
ECG basics - understanding the ECG and how to interpret them systematically
-
Pathophysiology, presentation and management of Asthma
-
Presentation and management of the shock process
-
The respiratory system, mechanics, physiology and pathophysiology
-
Anatomical differences between adult and paediatric patients and how they change disease outcomes and management
Is there a cancellation policy?
I understand that finding time to study is difficult with having to work, do assignments and have a social life. Cancellations made up to 48 hours before your tutorial will be processed without penalty.
Cancellations made 24 - 48 hours before your tutorial will be subject to a charge of half the tutorial rate. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will incur a fee equal to the cost of the tutorial. In all cases no rebooking fee will be incurred.
